Suns open NBA season against Seattle Supersonics
Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns open their NBA season tonight against
the Supersonics in Seattle.
Bet the Phoenix-Seattle game at Bodog
Life, which has the Suns as 12½-point favorites, and
the game total at 223.
The Suns have several players on the limp heading into tonight’s
opener, including Leandro Barbosa, who was forced out of the Suns’
final two preseason games with bruised ribs, Boris Diaw and Brian
Skinner, who both are suffering from sprained ankles, and Raja Bell,
who also has an ankle problem.
However, all are expected in the lineup tonight.
The Sonics are also having injury problems, as second overall pick
Kevin Durant and fifth overall pick Jeff Green are day-to-day with
sprained ankles, while center Robert Swift is doubtful with an injured
knee.
The Suns finished 61-21 and claimed the Pacific Division last year,
but lost in six games to eventual-champion San Antonio in the conference
semifinals. They have stated that they will be driven to win the
NBA title this season.
Seattle was dumped 120-103 by the Nuggets in its season and home
opener on Wednesday night. Seattle was a 11.5-point underdog. The
223 points were over the over/under total of 217.
The teams last met in regular-season action on April 11, 2007, when
the Suns downed the Sonics 109-91 on home court.
The total has gone under in four of Phoenix's past five games against
Seattle, and in 12 of Phoenix's past 15 games on the road against
Seattle. Phoenix is 4-2 ATS in its past six games on the road against
Seattle.
