Longhorns look for 8th-straight win in Big 12 battle

The streaking Texas Longhorns face Big 12 rival Kansas State Wildcats at Bramlage Coliseum in NCAA College Basketball action Monday.
The Wildcats are 3-point favorites at Sportbet, while the over/under total is 147.
The No. 5 Longhorns (10-2 Big 12) will be looking for their eighth-straight win to solidify their lead atop the conference while Kansas State is 8-4 in conference play and two games back on Texas.
Public betting information shows 55 per cent of bettors are taking Texas.
The teams are even over the past six meetings, each picking up three wins. But Kansas State has dominated against the point spread, going a perfect 6-0 ATS over that span. The teams last clashed on Feb. 3, 2007, when the Wildcats edged Texas 73-72 as 8-point road underdogs. The score went over the total of 143.
On Saturday, the Longhorns’ D.J. Augustin scored 19 points to lead Texas over Oklahoma 62-45. Texas (23-4 SU, 13-8-1 ATS) covered as 9-point home favorites and the score went under the 136½ -point total.
Kansas State (18-8 SU, 11-9 ATS) was defeated 92-86 by Baylor on Saturday, as 1-point underdogs. The 178 points were over the total of 158½. Michael Beasley scored a game-high 44 points in the loss.
Texas is 6-0-1 ATS in its past seven games, and 4-1 SU in its past five on the road. The total has gone over in five of Texas's past seven on the road.
Kansas State is 5-0 SU and ATS in its past five games at home, and 5-0 ATS in its past five against Texas.
Both teams face state rivals after this matchup: Texas is at Texas Tech on Saturday, while Kansas State visits Kansas, also Saturday.
